Liberty for All

I stood with many friends on a little knoll in Illinois last weekend, watching the skies light up as America celebrated her 231st birthday. It was a good chance to remember an old principle of the republic--political liberty results from government that is servant to the governed, not the other way around.

The church conference that we were attending also addressed liberty, a liberty more valuable than freedom to vote or speak or assemble. True liberty comes as man is freed from slavery to his passions and sin. Only the life of Jesus within can free us from selfishness, greed, fear, and a host of other sins that bind the heart of man. Even the most
democratic, freedom-loving government has
no power to break those chains on the soul.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

Hi, Annie! How are you?
This is a combination of three pictures that I took on the 4th of July. I put them together with Photoshop.

Hi Mrs Wood,
I'm doing well. We've been very busy and I'm hoping to post about what we've been doing soon.
Wow! Photoshop sounds really amazing! You will have to show me the program sometime. I've talked to Dad about getting it, but we haven't pursued it much.
